T- Mobile is going to Launch HTC Touch Pro2 on August 12

T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest carrier, said the HTC Touch Pro2 -- a touch screen smartphone with conference speakerphone technology -- will be available beginning August 12. The Bellevue, Wash.-based company said flipping the Touch Pro2 over turns it into a sophisticated speakerphone -- similar to those found in corporate boardrooms.

The handset uses "Straight Talk" technology to deliver high-fidelity sound enhanced by asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full-duplex acoustics.

Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, users can view, edit and update Microsoft documents, access calendars and manage to-do lists.

The Touch Pro2 also has a 3.6-inch touch screen, sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth wireless technology, Wi-Fi for fast Internet and built-in GPS and location-based services.

"The HTC Touch Pro2 offers the most powerful productivity experience available on a mobile phone, while also delivering unparalleled elegance in both its exterior and user interface design," said Jason Mackenzie, HTC's vice president. "HTC and T-Mobile have a history of introducing groundbreaking products, and this collaboration continues with the debut of this highly anticipated device to the U.S. market."

The HTC Touch Pro2 will be available on August 12 in retail stores and online.
